Amy began her academic journey with a Bachelor of Arts in Zoology from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU), earning recognition as a Provost's Scholar and Honors Program Scholarship Recipient. She went on to cultivate an expertise in genetics and population-level studies. Following graduate coursework in zoology at SIU, Amy transitioned to medical research at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine as a research scientist, applying rigorous ethical guidelines in human medical research and coordinating complex studies. This work honed analytical skills that she would later bring to the legal field.
Building on her commitment to advocacy and a growing interest in the legal field, Amy recently completed an externship with the Center for Conflict Resolution as a Mediator at the Los Angeles County Small Claims Courts. This experience provided an invaluable opportunity to hone negotiation and conflict resolution skills while settling disputes across a wide range of subjects.
